    "A *site* is a lab or facility at one location; a site may hold several *systems*.",

    "'orgShort' is an optional shorter 'org' used only by the table on the Systems page,",
    "where a long name makes the row too wide. The map always shows the full 'org'.",
    "A status's 'tableLabel' is the same idea: the table's wording for that status, where",
    "it differs from the 'label' the map uses.",

    "'built' is the year a system came into service. Systems still under construction have",
    "null: a year they have not reached is not a fact, and their status already says so.",
    "Retired and paused systems keep theirs \u2014 when a system was built is part of the record.",

    "'microscope' and 'selfBuilt' are kept because they are real data, but nothing displays",
    "them: the differences between systems are not meaningful to a visitor. Bring them back",

    "to be filled rather than as a picture of that system.",

    "'photoAlt' is the photograph's alt text: what the picture actually shows, for screen",
    "readers and search engines. Several pictures are of a building or of data rather than",
    "of the microscope, so it is written by hand for each one."
